A "Welcome" Message from the Nokesville Congregation
“Welcome, we’re happy to have you join us!” Yes, we’re happy you’ve visited our website and these are the words you’ll hear when you visit our church. We consider guests to be new friends in the making and hope you’ll join us one Sunday or come to one of our fellowship opportunities. Our members are very active in community functions so you’ll see us on Nokesville Day or picking up the trash on Fitzwater Drive or helping out at Serve (the local shelter and food pantry) or playing softball.
You can find out more about us through this web-site. There’s a brief history of our church that tells you how we started with our first service in 1883. If you have never heard of the Church of the Brethren denomination, you can read more about who we are as part of the people of God continuing the work of Jesus, Simply, Peacefully, Together. Or perhaps you’d like to learn more about our Sunday School, Fellowship Groups, Rainbow Pre-School, before and after school care called Kids’ Club, or visit our Youth page. There are plenty of pictures to see also.
The Church of the Brethren began almost 300 years ago so we share a rich history with other Church of the Brethren congregations. Our faith in God is lived out through our service to others in our community, and the world. Contact us or just drop by for a visit, we’ll be “happy to have you join us!”
Coming this Summer!! - A new church cookbook with old and new recipes. Our first cookbook was published in 1980 and most of ours is falling apart. The new book will include many of the recipes from the original book and new recipes from our current church family. The 100 recipes receiving the most votes will be republished. A form will be available weekly in the bulletin to fill out and return to church by March 18. You may e-mail your list to the church office, attention Fund Raising Committee or give to Barbara Deemer, Polly Flory, Gayle Hawkins, Stan or Nadine Keys. We are also looking for your favorite recipes. Please send us 4 or 5 to include in the new section. More information coming soon! |

Vacation Bible School:June 19-21, 2012 (9am-1pm, lunch included)
Operation Overboard: Dare to Go Deep With God is an invitation and a challenge to dive into the waters of God's Word and discover what it means to have deep faith. As kids take their journey to the Deep Sea Voyage Bible stories, the Chorale Reef Music Center, the Aquatic Arts Crafts, and the High Tide Hangout Recreation Center, they will be introduced to the Old and New Testament scriptures which demonstrate deep faith by depending on God, daring to care, claiming Jesus, choosing to follow, and changing the world.
We welcome enrollment for potty-trained preschoolers (age 3)
through 5th grade. Pre-registration will be required.
